Northwood Apartments is a 72-unit affordable housing community undergoing a comprehensive rehabilitation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Originally built in 1971, the redevelopment focuses on preserving long-term affordability while enhancing quality of life for residents earning between 30 and 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI).

The community features fully renovated apartment homes with modern finishes, including new granite countertops, cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and new flooring throughout. Updated common areas, and expanded amenities include a community lounge, laundry facilities, fitness center, playground, and outdoor pavilion, landscaping, and gated trash enclosures. Infrastructure and safety upgrades include new security and fire safety systems, enhanced lighting, updated utility systems, and resurfaced parking areas.

The development is financed through 4% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits under the Preservation Set Aside awarded by WHEDA, who also issued tax-exempt bonds and debt financing, CREA serves as the equity partner. All 72 units are supported by Section 8 HAP, ensuring long-term housing stability.
